For centuries, and even nowadays in many places, people put their faith in the hands of God in order to get rid of any problem or to reach happiness and spiritual enlightenment.
However, thinks have changed in the last decades. More and more people place their hope in technology. Seemingly, thanks to it, we will be able to erase hunger and even any deadly illness. It would even bring us the possibility to colonize other planets and to guarantee the survival of the human race in case we finally destroy the earth!
On a different level, technology has become an effective source of instant pleasure that prevents us from the horrible anxiety we feel when we just do nothing but to face our brain. When we feel bored for more than two minutes we just turn on our iPod, computer, TV or games console and we feel safe again.
